As an artist, I seek to celebrate the sensuality and beauty of the female body.

A Nude a Day is my art project for 2013. My goal is to paint 365 nudes in 2013, starting Jan 1st. It is an experiment in commitment to the female form, to explore the range of beauty, strength and power of the human body. In January and February of 2013, I funded this project through a successful Kickstarter campaign. 58 backers from 6 countries purchased original paintings and custom nude portraits. I am grateful for all the support that helped me launch this project!

I intend to paint many sorts of women in many moments of nudity, from the highly erotic to the deeply vulnerable. I will paint women in acts of self care, self loving, during pregnancy, mothering and lovemaking. Some images may be sexually explicit, to literally celebrate all of the body.

With 365 days of nudes to play with, I aim to depict a wide range of women, especially those not traditionally celebrated in erotic art.  Weekly themes will unify series within the project and challenge me to dig deeper into the genre of the female nude:

Wednesdays: Big Beautiful Women Wednesdays (Paintings depicting the gorgeous curves of bigger women)

Fridays: Feminist Fridays (Nude portraits of both historical and contemporary feminist icons)

Saturdays: Sexy Saturdays (Explicit explorations of eroticism and sexuality)

Sundays: Self Care Sundays (Paintings capturing simple gestures of self care)

I intend to have fun with this project, I hope you’ll join me in savoring the beauty, strength and magnificence of the female body in all of its colorful glory.
